How will my child learn?
At St. David’s Preschool, we embrace several developmental theories about how children learn along with these educational theories as outlined by NAEYC, which are central to our philosophy and program:
- Through play children learn: they acquire skills in all domains.
- Children learn best within the social context of positive, secure, high quality interactions and provided with opportunities to develop positive relationships with peers.
- Children have different learning styles which need to be addressed in the teaching behaviors of staff, curriculum content, and the learning environment.
- Children are active learners who learn through all experiences. With each experience, their understanding of the world is affected. Experiences influence approaches and approaches to learning.
- In response to this knowledge of how children learn programs should be developmentally appropriate and child-centered, providing the opportunity to meet individual needs in an environment that is warm, secure, loving, positive, and respectful of each child.
Testimonials
We highly recommend this preschool to friends and have always raved about it to our family members. My husband and I really love this preschool. Both our children excelled here, learning numbers , letters, sharing , making friends , enjoying many science and art projects.

"I asked my daughter ( 4 years old) what she liked about her school and she enthusiastically replied, "I love my school! It's so fun." I couldn't agree more! I absolutely love St. David's Preschool. I tell everyone I know who has young children how wonderful a preschool it is. I would describe the teachers as well as the program as nurturing, compassionate, academically supportive, delightful, and FUN!"
